Hi Vince,
Yeah, the price of the switch is hilarious. All you need to do to reproduce it is spend a few minutes with a multi-meter, although when I did this lots of people told me I had offended the...

It's great for everything except racing 250's :-(
Actually that would be ok too, if I didn't mind driving to Italy... :)
-
And yet my TZ turned up from Japan with half a tank of fuel!

Easy to reduce the stroke. Hard to reduce the total length.
I wouldn't go near an Ohlins RT, they are a very ordinary fork and are quite heavy. Much better to get a Showa and drop in a good...

Thanks guys :)
I'm in Lyon, so it's a bit away from Germany (und mein deutsch ist schlect), but nice to have another possibility :)
mean time I've set up a little machine shop and in my spare time...
-
Yeah, it's me :)
No longer down under, moved to France at the start of 2008, brought the 5KE with me but it's been under a sheet since :( The only 2-stroke 250 racing around here are hill climbs on...

GSXR forks (600/750: 2004-5, 1000 2003-4) used 300mm discs and take standard 108mm radial calipers. As mentioned by Anand, they are all too long. For the 1000 it's a lost cause because the diameter...

Chris Cosentino is still doing the machining?

No, it's not. 1kg weighs 9.81N(ewton) on earth. The units for spring constants are N/mm, ie the amount of force to compress the spring 1mm.
Nm is a unit of torque (ie you apply 1N force on the end...

Yeah, you need a little more oil in a RR than a MX bike, because of so much more time full throttle & high rpm. I run Silkolene Pro2 at 3% (ie 32:1), despite the suggestion of 40:1 on the bottle.

Or by being thrown over the bars as it locks up http://www.tz250racing.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
-
The only reason for using rollers is where the bike tends to compression lock the rear wheel when you push it. That means big 4-strokes, esp. twins & singles.
Once you've taken the warmers off,...

I've never had cracks, but then I usually try to follow the manual and change them at close to 500k...
To crack like that suggests that they may be slapping a bit, how much work have your...

After over a year of persevering with Bridgestones, trying different compounds, constructions and pressures, plus every permutationm of suspension and geometry I never succeeded in getting the bike...

Note the bit about the ROM being "5KE WGP". That'll mean it's for 102RON unleaded ELF or similar, as opposed to the 100RON pump fuel they are required to race on in Japan. So I'd imagine it's kit++...

Dunno about the battery power... mine works just fine without any battery.

Sounds like it. Some oils set into a sticky gum and could easily glue them up. Probably still stick open, since that's the position they'll be sitting in as the petrol/oil mix evaporates down...

I wonder how reliable the dynojet sniffer is when being fed lots of 2-stroke oil?
I'd be interested to know if there was a detectable change in the A/F curve at the point where the powerjets close...

Ah-ha!
Yes, I see, a little chamfer on the inside edge on one side. Turned it around, it works now http://www.tz250racing.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Thanks!

Unfortunately no... it's just the parts book for the 5KE4, which I have (and it seems to omit certain details... like the fact that the power valve splits into two halves!).
The manual there is...
-
I'm in the process of swapping over to my spare, re-plated cylinders... however when I attempted to screw on the power-valve end-plates, the valve binds up.
The parts manual shows a variety of...
-
Race-tech have a very good business plan, which is to use valves that can work on anything, from cruisers to race bikes, given an appropriate shim stack. Then they provide a simple chart that any...

The ring shouldn't go that high, since it would then wear the brass and create a step even if there wasn't one to start with...
So long as the det ring steps back from the nikasil, rather than...

Congrats to all http://www.tz250racing.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Gear oil & premix? Use your nose! Gear oil stinks http://www.tz250racing.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Are you running GP or road shift? I run my shift lever roughly level with the bottom edge of the foot-peg bracket.
