I hope it's a 97. According to this website's history section, the 96 had some major changes that weren't favorable,, so the 97 went back to the pre 96 chassis.

Ive been in the market for a 250 2t for a few years and I really like the RS250 NX5/NXA but it seems owners are having a tough time keeping them on the track since Honda quit making replacement...

I'd still prefer a 2000+ tz250 since new spares are available. 5ke cranks aren't that expensive and I can't find new cranks for the older tz's. Plenty of top end parts for everything though.

I'd love to have a 2000+ TZ250 and a set of those billet cases from Bruce Lind too. I can also get a spare new crank out of Japan for peace of mind.
