I contacted worlwide bearings at Koyo USA's direction. they told me Rick at Accu had an order of 100 center bearings due in 90 days, this was back in January, Accu lists them on their website for $75

not much action on this forum anymore, I race a 250, you probably need to replace the water pump seal, not hard & you should learn to work on your own bike, you don't need a shop

I talked with Mark Watts & now understand what you just stated Vince, that my clearance is excessive, cases have been sent to the UK to be sleeved, all 3 journals

Thanks for posting your failure, not sure if rod bearing failure is from worn cases but failure of new crank in 10 miles sounds like it is, for everyone's information, center bearing for cranks are...
-
I had a long conversation with Roland Cushway, he was very helpful & generous with his time, as I understand it when my cases reach operating temp the bore increases past tolerance causing bearing...

this was over a 3 month period, always using C12 & Motul, I went through enough fuel/oil that I don't think that caused the failures

I have been racing this 5KE since 2005, built several motors over the years, never had a failure till June of this year, I always use Yamabond 4, didn't know about 6 but don't think sealing of cases...
-
I have tried both, using red loctite on just the drive side journal when I thought I had worn journals, but after measuring with bore gauge found out that clearance was correct , bearing clearance...

As far as I can tell the bearing journals are not worn, they don't need to be fixed, the crankshaft bearings are an interference fit in the cases. possibly they are out of alignment, not sure how to...

To the best of my knowledge the cases have been NLA for some time, trying to contact Bruce to place order for cases. Bruce, are you trying to get another production run going?
-
these failures occurred with 3 different cranks, 2 of which were oem new & not rebuilds, so I can't accept the failures could have been caused by crank wobble unless the cases are allowing that, my...
-
did you ever find a reason for this bearing failure, I had a similar failure in June with an OEM (not rebuilt) crank with less than 1500km, side of bearing blew a chunk off & looked just like your...

I don't have to pay a machinist $70 an hour, I have access to the tools I need to do the modification myself,I checked Roland's website, no mention of pulley mod & in fact no mention of ANY TZ parts...
-
If anyone wants or needs work that bad they should advertise their repair. I do all my own work on my TZ, this doesn't seem like a complicated solution & most TZ owners SHARE their solutions, when I...
-
The reason I want a pic is so I can make the bushing & modify the pulley myself. a pic would make that easier, but otherwise I will make the bushing & modify the pulley without them, is that too...
