    cylinder base skim

    a d v e r t i s e m e n t

On our recent re-plating of our set of 4DP-00 cylinders the decision was made to skim .2mm off the bottoms. In the process the machine work left a small groove across the transfer ports on either side.
This is certainly disappointing but is it a problem?

I suppose you will find out when you build the motor and see if the base gasket manages to seal ok. Worse case scenario you could always use a smear of yamabond on the top of the gasket. I would go with the yamabond option as a safety net.
