I have a 2002 tz with kit air box and fairings. Having problems starting off. Carbs have chokes closed off, problem is bike is very fast when moving mid range to flat out. When sitting on start line it seems to choke itself up, when you let clutch out there is loads of smoke and no power but when going it is fast. Could there be something wrong with carbs. Set up of carbs S1 Nozzle with 370 main jets.

what kinda revs are you maintaining when you let the clutch out? keep in mind there normally isnt much of anything below 9500rpm or so.....

Off the line you should have the throttle pinned, so the nozzles etc etc are irrelevant. If it pulls hard at full throttle while moving, it should work off the line.
One thing to check is the needle & seat: if these aren't sealing, then it maybe that the pump is flooding the carbs on the line, but under constant heavy load there is enough fuel being consumed for this not to matter.
Another possibility might be that the difference in air box pressure is making a difference, so maybe check that your float bowl breathers are clear. In any case it's not that big: at 250km/h you're looking at a 3% pressure boost, or about one main jet size.
Otherwise, back to your starting technique
