Can anyone tell me what the part is in the Airbox that's connected to the Carbs. could it be a vacuum operated tap.

Ive seen quite a few bikes from Japan with this fitted as an alternative to using a fuel pump when running a ram air set up. Don't ask me how it works but I think it stops fuel starvation caused by the higher pressure in the airbox by equalising the pressure in the tank/carbs

You could be right , I know the Honda uses a receiver and solenoid valve to equalise the pressure between the carbs and airbox . The bike arrives from Japan this week so will get to see how it compares with my other NX5 .
