Hi all,
Have recently purchased a tz250 which I now believe to be a 93-94 model.
It has sealed air boxes and ducting one running to left side of the front nose fairing and the other running out to the side of the right hand fork leg.
To fit the ducts it's had the steering damper moved to the right hand side and now it fouls on everything and doesn't allow steering lock.
I also think the tachometer/electronic mounting for the dash has been modified also because the forks foul on the electronics.
Long story short I want to change this back to standard and was wondering if the factory air box/surrounds are available new or aftermarket and would love if anyone could post piccy s of what this model should look like in these areas.
A pictures of the tachometer/electronic mount would be appreciated .
Thanks in advance.
I also had the same mod done to mine, It seemed to require a damper with more travel. Also you can adjust the damper position towards the inside of fork tube and it will use less travel.
I dont think you can get the plastic carb shrouds anymore. I also did the airbox mod to a 93 frame and you need a longer damper on the right side. I didnt have to mess around with the front tach stay etc so it sounds like someone has just done a botch job .You can always just do away with the intakes and run the airboxes without lids allowing you the use the standard damper mount on the left. Just make sure that the jets are corrected in the carbs, especially if you are dumping a fuel pump as the float needles are different.
mine doesn't seem to run a fuel pump ? is this a necessity?
If so what type of pump and associated parts do I require?
can anyone shed some light on what damper I should be using?
thanks
