With regards to engine no/stamp there should be a short engine no/stamp on the casing that usually starts with 4DP ?

I'm intendng to put the engine back it a TZ250 bike so Looking for someting that is as original as possible , have any of the gears or parts of the engine being changed ? I see there are some used gearbox parts so just wondering if gearbox configuration has been altered at all ?

Nick , it would only have a number if it was the original motor from a bike exported to a country that required an engine number. Replacement cases don't have a number either.
