I had the heads made on a profile suggested by vhm for more over rev when using full throttle for long periods on the road courses.

i am running 9.5 on unleaded on my other bike, that is zero deck height and 0.85~ squish. i measured the volume in-situ at tdc with a bit of grease around the piston and until the paraffin just bulged at the bottom of the sparkplug hole, NOT to top. VHM measure to the top of the spark plug hole. the spark plug hole is usually considered to be 2.2cm3, that adds up, making mine 11.7, please tell me you are measuring to the top Neil, 11.8 is quite a bit bigger if its to the bottom of the hole

11.7 is more for shorter tracks.
I use 11.8 for Assen TT circuit.....long track

Yes, its to the top of the head measured on a flat plate.
