    Racing in Canada/North America?

    a d v e r t i s e m e n t

    Hi All,
Potentially I could be relocating from the U.K. to Canada in the near future,Vancouver area most likely,I have a number of questions......
Is there a race series suitable for a TZ250? What are the licence requirements? (I have an ACU U.K race licence) Whereabouts are the nearest racetracks? And finally,my son is into kart racing here in the U.K. does anyone know if there is a Kart racing circuit/series in the area?
    Thankyou as always
    Ade

Most of the USA clubs still run one or more classes that allow 250GP bikes. But very few are being ridden these days. If you wind up in the Vancouver area, the closest will be WMRRA that runs at Pacific Raceways south of Seattle and The Ridge just north of Shelton. But there would be you and maybe one other 250. Mostly SV650's.
200 miles further south is the OMRRA. Similar rules and situation.
Next is AFM in California. There are 6-10 250 GP bikes being ridden there at the three tracks they use.
The closest thing we have to a 250GP National series is the USGPRU which runs as part of ASRA/CCS. They are at track all over the USA. The Bruce Lind Racing Traveling Circus goes to most if not all of those events and has lots of room for additional bikes. But I doubt if you would have your stuff over here by the time we go on the road for the season in mid April.
There are Kart tracks and clubs all over.

Thankyou Bruce, thankyou for all the information,as you say I would not have my stuff over in time, but the offer is much appreciated.
It is still very early days with this plan, but there may well be a couple more TZ's on your side of the Atlantic soon.
