    09 TZ125 Ign timing

    Hi all,simple question,I have a late model TZ125,what would the ignition timing be,running unleaded race fuel.

    Since you're using unleaded, I would set it to what the manual says, 2.3mm BTDC, for starters.

    Cheers Dan,any thoughts of what changes I should make it if I run 100% avgas?

    If you run leaded fuel, you can / should advance the timing. 2.4 or 2.5mm BTDC should be good. I believe the leaded fuel burns slower, so needs more time to ignite, so the spark needs to happen earlier ie more advance.
    I use VP C12 and advanced to 2.4, then 2.5, and then 2.6. at 2.6 I lost oo much over-rev, so I backed it back down to 2.5
