Is it possible to change the fork springs with them in the bike? If so are there any pitfalls to watch out for.3Yl bike.,

Yes, it is possible. Support the front end with a front stand that holds the head stock, or a set of paddock stands through the hole in the frame. Loosen up the fork caps, then lower the front end back to the ground, the front end will collapse all the way till it bottoms. Use a fork spring compressor and a damper rod holder to compress fork spring, loosen jam nut, remove cap and spacer and viola....fork springs removed. Reverse process to reinstall. Be careful not to contaminate oil in fork.
