1990 TZ250A 3TC Exhausts
a d v e r t i s e m e n t>
Hi Guys, anybody know whether the reverse cylinder, U, W & A exhaust systems were different? I have an A with a damaged pipe and some 3 LC (W) pipes are available. Also, any advice on any other after market systems?
Cheers, Mark

Contact the member TeeZed on the northamericantwostrokes.com forums. He has the Yamaha sheet that states all the differences and interchangeability of 3AK, 3LC, and 3TC parts.

If it helps - the W and A pipe were for all intent and purpose identical. I never owned a 'U' so can't comment on that model. BTW - for a performance increase, remove 2mm from the mid section of the pipe to give better top-end and a slight over-rev capability. Yes I know you will be cutting your exhausts in half and re-welding them but this small modification was worth it :-) (You could use your old A pipes as a donor pair)

Just tried the exhausts with the 2mm reduction, yes good result thanks. Could immediately see the difference on the data logger, any more tips for tuning A's. BTW I'm running bored carbs, carbon reeds with 4dp conversion on heads. All the best, Mark
