Bearing emergency!
a d v e r t i s e m e n t>
hi All,
i discovered a bad bearing in my 4TW transmission last night, and i need to have the bike ready for Assen next weekend. i'm not equipped to do this job, so I need to find a bearing ASAP (i think i'll build a fixture to press the bearing in, with the engine still in the bike).
It's the bearing in the case, just below and diagonal from the output shaft bearing (and opening). behind the bearing is where the clutch actuator shaft rotates.
the yamaha number is 93306-00442. i've found a few in the UK, but it would be better if i had an alternative SKF number or something. i'm in Berlin, Germany.
any help is appreciated!
things like this always happen when i have no time to monkey about.
...wait, i always have time to monkey about.

...laterally accelerating to a track near you...
Does the bearing have a number on it?
Can you make a picture?

... feel the power...
That is a 6004 bearing. You should be able to get it at any bearing supplier or industrial supply company. Go with the C3 grade bearing.
You are in Germany, get the FAG bearing.
A little trick on MOST yamaha bearing part numbers. 93306-00442. The number bolded is the standard bearing size. Doesn't work for any of the super special bearings but works for most of them.
