Measuring Fittings - late model carbs

    a d v e r t i s e m e n t

Could I ask some kind soul with Keihin carbs on his '99+ 250 for some measurements? I'm looking for the thread size on the cable spout, the cable diameter, and the length & dia of the button on the carb end of the cable.

Squarebore (98+) TZ125's use Keihin carbs but I thought the rest of the TZ125s and TZ250s use Mikuni carbs. That being said, I have a 2000 TZ250 that I can measure. Could you elaborate on "cable spout"?

    Hi, Dan.

The squarebore 250s changed carbs as well; they sure do look like the Kehins used on the 125s! (shrug)

Anyway - at the top of the carb is a little brass (?) elbow screwed into the carb lid. It has a threaded end and locknut that the throttle cable sleeve threads onto - I'd appreciate the thread size of that piece - particularly at the cable end, at both ends if possible.

Can I add the cable sheath OD at the carb to the list of measurements?

    Thanks much!

The carbs are Mikuni for sure.

    Cable sheath OD is 7.2mm
    The threaded portions:
    At carb end. 6mm x 0.8mm
    At throttle tube end. 6mm x 1.0mm

Bobbin at end of cable that pulls up the slide is a small cylinder 3.0mm diameter. 4.3mm height

I sent you a PM on another topic. Would you take a look when you have a chance?
    Thanks Don
